Dear Parents/Guardians,

As we begin our final weeks of school, it is with excitement that we are looking forward to summer.  Yet, I am sad that we will close our year without our Pastor, Fr. Pollard.  I ask that you continue your prayers for his healthy return over the summer.  My most recent news is that he is improving and looking forward to returning to us prior to the start of our next school year.

I mentioned at the final Home and School meeting that we only loose teachers to motherhood or moves out of state.  Again this year is no different.  Mrs. Karavangelos, who had her second child in January, will now be staying at home with her children: baby Katina and big brother Constantine.  We wish her luck and love as she continues the greatest job in the world, being a mother!  We know we will see her at all our special events.  Mr. Ogle shared with us that he is planning on moving to either Texas or Hawaii!  So although we will miss him, we do not feel sorry for him!  And lastly, Mrs. Young will be moving to Atlanta, Georgia.  This is a wonderful opportunity for her and her husband.  She also shared that she will be taking next year off since they are expecting a baby in October!  We wish Mrs. Young lots of luck and expect to receive emailed pictures!

 I would like to share with you a piece from the staff closing prayer service:

 “There is time to sow;

A time to reap;

A time for war;

A time for peace…

A time to dance;

A time to die;

A time for embracing…”

~Ecclesiastes

Ecclesiastes surely is saying that life is a series of experiences, that through those experiences we may come to know ourselves.  Life is not what we see happening on the outside.  Life is what is going on inside us, in the quiet murky waters of our soul.  And life is driven by energies too wild for us to ignore, too deep for us to hide.  The very problem of life is that it flows and is not graspable.  The beauty of life is that it runs and does not stop.  The consequences of such a situation are mixed at best in a world made up of ebbs and flows, flux and change.

As I write this final letter for the 2009-2010 school year, these words fill my mind.  Life ebbs and flows.  I do not know what the summer will bring and I can only pray for the best.  I pray that as our journey for this year ends and our families venture off, that we remain safe, happy and prayerful.  I pray that the faculty and staff have a rejuvenating summer.  I pray that Fr. Pollard will return healthy.  And I pray that when we return in the fall, I will hear the exciting tales of our summertime.

May you have a blessed and peaceful summer.

Sincerely in Christ,

Susan G. Scott
